Durieva

Durieva is a fully transparent bioresorbable membrane composed of 100% type I equine collagen. The product was developed using Innocoll's proprietary CollaFilm technology.

A key feature of this technology  is that it generates a strong yet flexible collagen matrix that can be applied as a dural onlay or suturable graft during cranial surgeries.

Target Indication

Durieva is being developed for dura reconstruction as a temporary dura replacement and biomatrix for dura regeneration.

Mode of Action

Durieva is composed of renatured collagen fibrils that serve as a matrix to support tissue repair. It acts as a biomatrix for dura replacement and dura regeneration by triggering the formation of a new extracellular matrix and rapid migration of fibroblasts.

Key Features

Durieva is available in a variety of sizes. It has been designed and engineered for optimal handling and ease-of-use.  It may be cut, sutured, and/or used together with fibrin sealant, as required. The non-porous structure of DURIEVA renders it very water-tight.

Contact of Durieva with blood results in the aggregation of platelets, which adhere to the collagen matrix and release coagulation factors leading to the formation of fibrin. Therefore, it is not essential to seal with tissue adhesives.

Durieva is a member of a family of collagen products distributed by Innocoll Pharmaceuticals. The collagen products have an extensive and established history of safety and efficacy. Collagen has a primary role in all phases of wound healing making it an effective agent for managing wound treatment.
